Whitney Elizabeth Houston was born on 9 August 1963 in Newark, New Jersey, United States. She spent her childhood years visiting nightclubs with her mother where she was performing. She became a singer for Michael Zager Band in 1977. She performed background vocals on Chaka Khan’s track “I’m Every Woman” in 1978. She started working as a modal when a photographer saw her in a club singing with her mom in 1980. She started her music career after signing up to Arista Records.

She was found dead on 11 February 2012 in Beverly Hills, California. May her soul rest in peace.
