The Band Perry – If I Die Young Review
“If I Die Young” is taken from American country band The Band Perry’s debut album “The Band Perry”. It was released on 7 June, 2012 by Republic Nashville Records as the lead single from their album. It was produced by Paul Worley and Nathan Chapman, and written by Kimberly Perry. The official music video was released on 27 May, 2010, and was directed by David McClister. A remix version of the song is also available that was remixed by Matt Ward in early 2011.
Bobby Peacock of “Roughstock” commented about “If I Die Young” that “songwriting shows a control of tongue and vessel allowing her to build heavy, fascinating lyrics, the effect is a number of extremely dark, carelessly linked statements. The idea is murky, at most, and even though a lot of the unique pieces are well driven the whole is hard to carry out”.
“If I Die Young” peaked at number 12 on the Billboard Pop Songs, at number 1 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs Chart, at number 4 on the Billboard Adult Pop Songs Chart, at number 14 on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart, at number 82 on the UK Singles Chart, at number 37 on the Irish Singles Chart and at number 48 on the Canadian Hot 100 Chart.
