Taylor Swift – Safe & Sound Featuring The Civil Wars Review

“Safe & Sound” is performed by American pop and country singer-songwriter Taylor Swift and taken from her companion album “The Hunger Games: Songs from District 12 and Beyond”. It was released on 23 December, 2011 by Big Machine Records. It was produced by T-Bone Burnett, and written by Joy Williams, Burnett, John Paul White and Taylor Swift. The song also features folk and country duo “The Civil Wars”. The official music video was released on 13 February, 2012 and directed by Philip Andelman.

Amy Sciarretto of “Pop Crush” said about “Safe & Sound” that “the song is heady, ethereal and breathy but not lite and frothy. She writes this type of songs for young generation but she is revealing her dark side. The song’s layered voice overs allow it to be seem like it might be sung around a campfire in the forest for anyone who is sharing with terrifying tales that aren’t really false”.

“Safe & Sound” peaked at number 30 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, at number 67 on the UK Singles Chart, at number 11 on the RIANZ Singles Chart, at number 31 on the Canadian Hot 100 chart and at number 39 on the ARIA Singles Chart.

  1. She just keeps getting better and better as she gets older. I also love The Hunger Games (she wrote this song for that)! ;D

  2. Also, this is the girl singing (She’s amazing!) not Taylor Swift. Also the music is different. Still good though
