Skrillex & Rick Ross – Purple Lamborghini Review
If you haven’t watched the lately released anti-hero film Suicide Squad, from the DC Comics extended universe, well than you better. Because the movie’s official sound track includes – Purple Lamborghini by Skrillex & Rick Ross.
The song was released especially to be included on the motion picture soundtrack on July 22, 2016. The release was carried through Atlantic Records and Warner Bros. Records. Whereas song production was handled by Beat Billionaire and Skrillex, who also took part in the band composition, along with Rick Ross.
Despite listening the single audibly, Purple Lamborghini is more about its accompanied music video, which features Jared Letto as the Joker and his video specific footage. Until now, no Joker has taken part in a music video ever!
Beginning with the trio standing on a speedboat before going into a club and watching Ross perform, the joker embarks on his mission with the company of two more members to the suicide squad – Skrillex and Ross.
In the list of music videos released till now for the motion picture, Purple Lamborghini is the third, following from the previous Twenty One Pilots’ “Heathens” and “Sucker for Pain,” an all-star collaboration between Lil Wayne, Imagine Dragons, Wiz Khalifa, Ty Dolla $ign, Logic and X Ambassadors.
The track until recently was on No.90 and has now long jumped into the No.33 spot in just one week! on US Billboard Hot 100. No doubt the single has gotten a sharp response on the charts, the movie has gotten quite some serious reviews and everyone wants to witness the persona of the joker again.
The single begins with some excellently done dark percussions. Taken aback by Ross’s continuous and solid rap, complemented nicely over with siren synths that dive in deep with a signature Skrillex inspired drop beat.
The beat features a very gangster inspired, mechanized musical composition. It perfectly balances the ambience that normally comes associated with the personality of the joker.
The entire focus and hook of the song, revolves around when Ross spurs “Ain’t no mercy, ain’t no mercy/ Got that purple Lamborghini lurkin” along with the background which instantly drops you out of your chair.
The title is very misleading, despite its unlimited reference in the track, there is no actual Lamborghini that too purple. Albeit there are however a bunch of other cars.
All in all, a solid track with capable musical penetration over an energetically dark themed production.
