ScHoolboy Q – Collard Greens ft. Kendrick Lamar Review
“Collard Greens” is a song by American hip-hop recording artist “Schoolboy Q”. The song was released on June 11th, 2013. It is a third single from his third studio album “Oxymoron”. The song features a guest appearance from “Kendrick Lamar”.
This song is like the introduction to the album. It was just people getting excited and getting people ready for what was about to happen.
“Collard Greens” is a patch work of lines that don’t provide much in the way of linear narration, but both Schoolboy and Kendrick find plenty of ways to get their personality across. Q said that Kendrick was the guy who kept on inspiring him to drop a classic, and when the two are together like this, such an accomplishment looks very much within reach.
The drum track sounds like it was lifted from an indie-rock band from the late aught, all rim hits and tribal propulsion, but the synths are serene. This song looks like as if it clouds many upcoming summer tracks.
The lyrical content of the song is so solid and marvelous that it makes everybody indulge in its feel. The vocalists have come up with their best up till now and they have proved themselves by releasing such an extraordinary song.
The track was believed to be one of the bests among all the previous releases by the artists, and it is doing the same. I really like the song, what about you?
