Thomas Rhett Akins – T-Shirt Review

Showing some movement in a black and white attire with a contrasting backdrop, is an honored musical tradition seen around the world. That being said, the American country singer Rhett Akins has released a new single titled T shirt, from his second studio album Tangled Up. T shirt was being performed by Akins as long as 2013, well before the initial release. The track sees Akins showing some cheesy footwork on a country song inspired by some funky sound effects.

Released on February 16, 2016 under Valory Music Group, saw the track rising to No. 39 on the Hot Country Songs lists three weeks prior to the original release. On its initial debut, the track came about on No.53 at the Country Airplay charts. Presently, the song holds a position at No.41 at US Top Hot 100 charts lists.

Written by Ashley Gorley, Luke Laird, and Shane McAnally. The tune is a fair play between, light drumming and 90’s inspired guitar riffs. Creating a nostalgic feeling for any young adolescent, listening to country music from the early 90’s. The lyrics are creative, and the lyrics describe the happy summer love song. “Get off of work and we meet down at our spot. We had a patio with a view of a parkin’ lot”

The verses basically describe the happy romance between a guy and a girl. The feeling of blooming flowers in the tummy, all the way to their fancy playing in bed. “Had Christmas lights in the middle of June. All hung up, like I was on you” The track title itself, is an inclination of that extra-large shirt a girlfriend wears, of her boyfriend. “Cause you sure look good in my t-shirt” You guys get the idea don’t you?

Sitting at a comfy 3:51 minutes, a duration enough to enjoy and hear enough out of the song. lyrics convey decent information within the duration. The vocals are catchy and clear, bringing in the feeling of excitement. Definitely the song, to be playing in the car with the top down and you and your girl driving off into the sunset.

An insta grat video premiered in September 2015 to complement the song. The video was released for download, who pre ordered the album before release on iTunes.
