N.W.A – Straight Outta Compton Review

The American hip hop group, N.W.A. redefined the direction of hip hop in their debut single, Straight Outta Compton. It has lyrics relating to the gangster lifestyle that turn out to be the driving force in the sales figures. It wasn’t quite the first gangsta rap album, nevertheless, the first one to hit upon a popular audience.

Its receptivity virtually outlined the genre by its 1988 release on. It launched gangsta rap and, besides West Coast rap in general, as a viable force, profiting platinum with no broadcast and crossing shock-hungry white teenagers.

“Straight Outta Compton” was the leading single of N.W.A’s album of similar name. The song was co-written by Eric “Eazy-E” Wright, Lorenzo “MC Ren” Patterson and O’Shea “Ice Cube” Jackson.  It was designated No. 19 on Top 100 Rap Songs of About.com and is debuted at No. 6 on 100 Greatest Songs of Hip Hop of VH1.

The song was produced by Dr. Dre and DJ Yella. “Straight Outta Compton” peaked at No. 38 on US Billboard Hot 100 on September 5, 2015 due to the recent release of the movies of the similar name and Dr. Dre‍ ’​s Compton. It was the top debut on the chart in that week.
