Keith Urban – Wasted Time Review

How I really thought country music is not going to go so bad. But People claiming to be country musicians and produce hardly that. Isn’t that like a murder to the ever classical Genre? What makes me say that; Keith Urban.  A prime example of producing music with hardly any country in it.  Seeing the release of his new single ‘Wasted Time’. Keith urban is set to bring the crowds some happy summer music.

The American Idol judge took out some time to work on his ninth studio album; Ritcom. Previously two singles already were released “John Cougar, John Deere, John 3:16,” and “Break on Me”, this time the artist worked on his biggest experimentation yet Wasted Time as the third single to his album. Released on 4 April 2016. Under Hit Red and Capitol Nashville

The track saw decent success in the Charts of various regions and countries. Reaching to No.1 on the Billboard country airplay chart of both Canada and US. The track came at No.7 at US country songs charts and No.1 on the on Canada Country Billboard. The song is currently positioned at No.57 on the US Hot 100.

As we can expect from Keith Urban, the song follows a very catchy tune and pop-dance feel to it. Upbeat beats and claps synths make sure to keep the listener engaged in an entertaining melody. All the instrumentation do however overpower the banjo in background running for most parts of the song. There is a banjo solo, but it is ever so short lived as the memorability of this song. Making us rethink the actual genre of the song.

Keith Urban’s is however do sure about making the most through his lyrics and vocals with clear words and expressing his time, spending his summer. Recalling back the old days of doing all things crazy with friends and mates. Singing the song with the concept of nostalgia. Like here “Summer dresses drying out on the hood of the car. Only music that we had was out the left speaker. We were living every second ’til the time ran out.
We had nothing but we had it all”

Lyrics like these on a topic this shallow is what can be expected as Country music is filled with songs like this for a while now. Over all the title is accurately selected that listening it, was a wasted time!
