Katy Perry – Thinking of You Review
The song ‘Thinking of You’ was not able to climb up to the highest posts in music charts but it was well received by critics. It earned positive reviews because of its outstanding production. The track also became an emotional ballad about one’s longing for a lost love. It can be mushy but the tune is certainly very catchy.
It was the third single released from Perry’s second CD ‘One of the Boys,’ which was launched in 2008. The track is distinct as it is among the very few songs that Perry solely wrote. The pop ballad has the elements of soft rock and pop rock sprinkled with obvious hints of country music.
The track served as one of Perry’s first offerings for more serious and emotional listeners. Just by listening to it, you can easily relate to the message if you are longing for a lost love. The song never failed to showcase her powerful vocals and of course her songwriting talent.
You may identify the influences of Evanescence and Alanis Morissette on Perry because of the song’s angst. But at the end of the day, everyone may agree that Perry is a unique artist and she is taking her very own path.
