Justin Bieber – Boyfriend Review
Justin Bieber is all grown up now. That is why his third CD ‘Believe’ (released in 2012) contains songs that transcend his musical departure from most of his recent materials. The track ‘Boyfriend’ was intended to surprise everyone in many ways. It has hip hop and R&B influences that can remind anyone of the hit songs of ‘N Sync and Pharell Williams.
It is just notable that Bieber sounds like a real grown up on this track. His voice sounds different compared to his pip-squeaked vocal range on his first hit ‘Baby,’ which now seems like it was recorded 10 years ago. Many critics agree that he is on the right track in keeping his star’s brightness especially because he is slowly transforming from a teeny bopper into a serious adult performer.
However, in terms of his song’s lyrics, Bieber needs to grow up. He might need to set aside writing for his songs in a while and let others do it so he could come up with more lyrically mature pieces. But overall, everyone may agree that he has a prospective paramour. The song is actually sonically polished that it can help bring Bieber into the hit playlist with the likes of his mentor Usher and Justin Timberlake.
