Justin Bieber – Mistletoe Review
It just seems like Justin Bieber’s music career would not be complete if he would not release his own Christmas single. In October 2011, the popular Canadian recording artist finally released an original Christmas song.
‘Mistletoe’ was the carrier single of his second CD and first Christmas album ‘Under the Mistletoe.’ Like most of his past singles, this one is a fusion of pop and R&B with evident influences of reggae. It sounds perfectly custom fit for him.
Surprisingly, most music critics raved about the song. To them, the track introduces Bieber to a wider swath of adult and new pop fans. Certainly, it would be easily included in the playlist for genteel Christmas parties. There are subtle wintry holiday chimes that were logically created in the background to make the piece sound more like a seasonal release.
You may not miss the fact that Bieber has attempted to inject his own charisma into the song. It is a catchy and fun one. However, most music analysts agree that it is still far from reaching the level of more popular classics when it comes to Christmas pop songs, which include the all-time top favorite ‘All I Want for Christmas Is You.’
