Glee Cast – Let Me Love You (Until You Learn To Love Yourself)
The hit TV show Glee is best known for the excellent covers of songs it does through its themed episodes. In the third season, episode 13, ‘Let Me Love You’ by R&B singer Mario was featured. It was sung by a character named Artie together with New Directions.
Finn played the drums. In the story, the track was sung to convince Sugar to agree to become Artie’s Valentine’s Day party date. The performance was great but it must be in the story plot for Sugar to pick Rory, the other guy, instead.
The track is an original from the second CD of Mario ‘Turning Point,’ which was released in 2004. The song is evidently written by Ne-Yo and contains rapped verses from T.I. and Jadakiss. In 2008, Billboard named the song as one of the All-Time Top 100 singles of the chart, which has a 50-year history.
The song is a moderate ballad with a dose of R&B. Through the years, it has received various recognitions and accolades from various award-giving bodies. So far, it is the best and most popular song from Mario. Some critics compare it to Tina Turner’s 1980s hit ‘What’s Love Got to Do with It.’
