Fun. – Some Nights Review
‘We Are Young’ was definitely one of the biggest hits of 2012. Greater pressure is on the following singles from the band Fun. ‘Some Nights’ is the second single released from the group’s second album with the same title. It is another track with a hint of alternative pop.
A capella chorus kicks off the song, making listeners easily discern that it comes from the same band that produced ‘We Are Young.’ It features the consistent angst and lyrical meditation that only the band has mastered to render effectively. The pop melody makes it catchy and interesting. But the lyrics can be something else.
The song’s martial drum beats and some words in the lyrics can make any listener have the perception that it is a war song. But an in-depth analysis can reveal that those are only metaphors describing the enthusiasm and energy required to succeed in life.
Amazingly, there is still a humorous side to the song. Moreover, the track is intelligent and definitely fun. It can pave the way for more hit singles from the same album. It is just fun listening to the song. Indeed, the band has the most appropriate name of all.
