It was released on 21 February, 2012 by Universal Republic, Cash Money Records and Young Money Records as the album’s second official single. It was produced by Noah “40” Shebib and Jamie xx, and co-written by Drake, Brook Benton, James Smith, Anthony Palman and Noah Shebib. The song features Barbadian R&B recording artist Rihanna.

The music video for “Take Care” released on 6 April, 2012 and directed by Yoann Lemoine. It was certified 2x platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) and platinum by the Canadian Recording Industry Association (CRIA or Music Canada).
