Devlin – Rewind featuring Diane Birch Review

The English rapper Devlin, James Devlin in real life, is truly one of the most promising recording acts to watch out for this year. After an album and an EP, he has finally found his niche when he announced the release his sophomore CD ‘A Moving Picture.’

However, that launch has been delayed and is now slated to be out by February 2013. But he has already released two singles from that album. The third single that has just been released is the track called ‘Rewind.’

The song debuted at No. 10 on the official UK music charts and at No. 3 on the UK dance singles list. Music critics receive the track with a mixture of reactions; some are good while others are bitter. To some of the staunchest critics, the sound of the song is not exactly what music enthusiasts are hoping for.

He is a good rapper. Moreover, his is an outstanding vigor. He has also established himself as a worthwhile wordsmith.

On the biggest downside, many critics think the song is a rip-off. Some speculate that it was directly taken from the 1987 ballad ‘Alone.’ Not helping is the song’s watery production.
