Coldplay – Princess of China featuring Rihanna Review
The song “Princess of China” is taken from British rock band Coldplay’s fifth studio album “Mylo Xyloto”. It was released on February 14, 2012 by Partophone Records as the fourth single from their album. The song also features the American R&B recording artist “Rihanna”. It was produced by Dan Green, Markus Dravs and Rik Simpson, and was written by Jonny Buckland, Brian Eno, Will Champion and Chris Martin. The official music video was released on June 2, 2012, and directed by Alan Bibby and Adria Petty.
They performed the song live at the 54th Grammy Awards, during Coldpaly’s Mylo Xyloto Tour, at Stade De France and at the the closing ceremony of Summer Paralympics 2012. It was certified platinum by Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA), gold by International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI), platinum by the Federazione Industria Musicale Italiana (IFMI), gold by Recording Industry Association of New Zealand (RIANZ) and gold by the British Phonographic Industry (BPI).
“Princess of China” peaked at number 24 on the Billboard Rap Songs, at number 20 on the Billboard Hot 100, at number 4 on the UK Singles chart, at number 26 on the Dutch Top 40, at number 24 on the French Singles chart, at number 8 Brazil Hot 100 Airplay chart, at number 16 on the ARIA Singles chart and at number 17 on the Canadian Hot 100.
