Chris Janson – Buy Me A Boat Review
The emerging country star, who has co-written Tim McGraw’s huge radio hit “Truck Yeah”, has now released his first country chart Number One with the virulent, “Buy Me A Boat.” The song’s theme is textbook country and moves around classic American aspiration and hope
Chris Janson is more than just a killer songwriter- he’s an insane entertainer, all the time working the stage and playing the hell out of his guitar and harmonica.
The musicians on the cut absolutely complement Janson’s fabulous vocal performance, and the song would be a welcome addition to each road tour, celebration, or chilled evening on the ranch. Average country men and women are more likely to want a hale and hearty family – with a nice boat and a new truck to pull it.
The song is a classic summer anthem – an absolute country-rock tune you’ll find yourself playing over, and over, and over again. It’s lyrically sharp for a not-so-serious message, something hardly seen. You’ll want to work out to it, drink to it, blow out the speakers with it.
As an independent artist Chris Janson released “Buy Me a Boat” online in early 2015. The song acquired attention after it got radio airplay on the Bobby Bones Show, setting it off to peak at number 33 on Hot Country Songs. It was publically released in May 2015 via Warner Bros. Records Nashville.
The television network Country Music Television (CMT) sponsored and produced the song’s music video, the first music video ever funded by the network itself. The song has got sold 235,000 copies in the US as of June 2015.
