Calvin Harris – Sweet Nothing Featuring Florence Welch Review
After the hit collaboration between Calvin Harris and Florence and the Machine through the song ‘Spectrum,’ Harris has once again worked with the band’s vocalist Florence Welch. The singer and songwriter and Welch just came up with another song called ‘Sweet Nothing.’ It is part of Harris’ third CD ‘18 Months.’
The song is an electronic dance music track complete with bouncy beat and love-strung vocals. The lyrics describes a romantic relationship without any depth, hence the title. Incorporated in it are ping and laser-like beats. It became the fifth single to be released from Harris’ recent album after it was first unveiled in August 2012 on BBC Radio’s The Chris Moyles Show.
Favorable reviews were garnered by the song. It cemented Harris’ status as a producer of wholesome dance pop tracks. The praises are not just for him. Welch also has her share of raves. She is commended for her tamed vocals that do not affect the projection of the character despite mournful lyrics.
Most music critics expect more from Harris after this single and album. For sure, he could come up with many more dance tracks that will climb the charts whether those are from his album or from other collaborations.
