Swedish House Maf*a – Don’t You Worry Child Featuring John Martin Review

After ABBA and Ace of Base several decades ago, Swedish music returns to US music charts through Swedish House Mafia. The group comprises of three house disc jockeys, who are also producers at the same time. Electronic dance music is their forte. ‘Don’t You Worry Child’ is a single the trio released in September 2012. It was taken from their first album ‘Until One,’ which was released in 2010.

The song served as the group’s first hit that got into Top 10. Critics assert that it can be considered as Swedish House Mafia’s only US crossover smash. It has all the familiar elements that make a hit dance single: syncopated synths, stabbing, acoustic guitar interlude, and house music drum buildup.

On top of those, the track conveys a desperate message about reassurance and rejection. Thus, it serves as an appropriate farewell message. John Martin serves as the voice of the song. The lyrics confess fear while remembering heartbreak and taking refuge in music.

Unfortunately, the trio feels that the group has already reached its pinnacle. After releasing their second album ‘Until Now,’ Swedish House Mafia will go on a tour and disband.
