Pitbull – Messin Around Feat. Enrique Iglesias Lyrics
Pitbull – Messin Around Feat. Enrique Iglesias Review
No seriously, I am not messing around. Or am I? On this occasion somebody else sure is.
Yes ladies and Gentlemen, Who am I talking about? None other than the Cuban Rap Artist Pitbull; releasing an all new single titled Messin Around featuring his go to buddy, the Spanish king of pop Enrique Iglesias. I’ve basically lost track of this duo working on music together in the past. To name a few, Pitbull and Enrique have previously collaborated on tracks such as 2010′s “I Like It,” followed by 2014′s “I’m A Freak” and “Let me be your Lover” from last year. Messin Around will be their fourth collaboration together.
The track released on April 8, 2016 serves as the fourth single from the Cuban artist’s 10th studio album Climate Change released under RCA Records. Even if the collaboration isn’t obvious anymore, the inspiration for the song has come about from an unusual source and that too from the classic rock of REO Speedwagon’s “Take It on the Run”. The track draws sampling directly from the opening verses and choruses of their song respectively.
Messin Around saw moderate appeal for it’s up to generation music tune, for this centuries music lovers. Despite featuring Enrique, the track couldn’t really get off to flying start and currently positions itself at No. 64 on the US Hot 100 Charts lists, climbing a few place up recently. On the Canadian charts the single aired slightly better at No.53 and saw its peak at No.12 on Mexico Ingles Airplay
While “Take It on the Run” tells about finding new love as a girl, the Pitbull and Enrique’s version talks about being wacko crazy with the girls they meet. In the all so very happy and up tone melody. The both of them sing in the verse “You can get sexy if you want to. And you can bring your girls if you want to. And we can hit the crib if you want to. And we can mess around if you want to” clearly shows the feelings off ‘two buddies out for the spring break’ kind of thing.
The melody has that tropical Caribbean flare amongst the many elements one can hear. Those finger clicks keep things trendy and the evergreen Enrique howl gets you well settled.
Despite featuring artist of a continental mesh. There is no specific individuality to the music and lacks the flare or kick off, is basically a moderate up tempo pop ballad.
A video was released by Pitbull through his YouTube and vevo accounts on May 25, 2016.
