Miguel – Adorn Review

Dreams inspired American singer Miguel to write the song ‘Adorn,’ which was the carrier single of his second CD ‘Kaleidoscope Dream.’ Call it déjà-vu but he must have dreamt about the song becoming this huge. It is actually considered as his most commercially successful single today.

It propelled him to his third No. 1 single on the R&B/Hip-Hop music chart. As if that is not yet enough, the track has even been nominated in the 2013 Grammy Awards for Best R&B Song, Best R&B Performance, and Song of the Year. It must be really good to deserve all these.

Different elements make the song a hit. Music critics praise Miguel’s vocals, which they say are rich enough to exude a sense of luxury. It complemented the lyrics that talk about men adorning women they love. The throbbing and garbled sound easily passes to make it among the signature pop moments of 2012.

Moreover, it was declared as the No. 33 best song of 2012, while it was voted as the No.2 top singles of the year on The Village Voice’s yearly Pazz & Jop survey. Thanks to its falsetto howls, sub-bass sounds, obscured synths, and unique keyboard arrangements.
