Ed Sheeran – Shape Of You Review
You would not believe what Ed Sheeran, the English singer just let loose.
As the year begins, we need fresh hits and he has delivered. ‘Shape of You’ has debuted at number #1 on the billboard this year and it’s all in the style.
After a rather long hiatus from the music scene, he has bounced back so fast, so furious, it’s exhilarating.
The vocals, the lyrics and the promise of the upcoming March 3rd album are all part of the delicacy. So, dive with me as we tear this juicy song apart to see the good stuff.
You will love it.
‘Shape of You’ is a blend of several beats from different genres that give the song a pop feel and the marimba that plays in the background lends the lyrics the exact vibe that they need.
Sheeran doesn’t try to change the tempo of the song but goes along with the fresh tropical beats which evoke images of Brazilian dances.
The lyrics are awesome. They are a story of a smitten Ed Sheeran going to the bar and meeting a girl and goes on to describe a growing romance. This creates the theme on which the story is based.
He speaks about the woman with fond yearning and calls on her to “come on be my baby, come on”. This is after he convinces her that she was ‘handmade for him’. You will absolutely love the lyrics given that he sings them along with the tempo of the song beautifully.
Ed Sheeran didn’t release a video for this song! Well, he did but it was a lyric video to accompany the song which was released online for streaming. So, if you want a video, there is one, the lyric video.
This should make it easy for your karaoke or if you want to sing along in the shower or something.
You will be happy to hear that he didn’t try to push his vocal range beyond what he can’t do. It is even all along the song. The vocals are a blend of his trademark style of singing a low pitch and a higher one before combining them both.
Throughout the song, he doesn’t lose the pitch. He is entertaining and you will want to sing along as he goes.
