Blake Shelton – Sure Be Cool If You Did Review

Blake Shelton is one busy man these days. He has been occupied the past few days by his recent Christmas album, his Twitter habit, and his stint as a mentor in ‘The Voice.’ Interestingly, he found time to record a new song in between his busy schedule. The country music artist has just released ‘Sure Be Cool If You Did,’ a single that heralds his upcoming seventh CD to be released sometime this year.

Three brilliant songwriters collaborated to produce it—Chris Tompkins, Jimmy Robbins, and Nicolle Clawson. However, most critics point out its strong resemblance to other mainstream ballads like ‘God Gave Me You,’ ‘Who are You when I’m not Looking,’ and ‘Over.’ Thus, to them, this song just made Shelton a predictable country music crooner.

The track has the necessary elements to make a song a commercial and chart success. But to most critics, this one sounds more ordinary. It lacks the qualities of songs that are especially customized for someone who has Shelton’s stature. To many skeptics, many other country music singers could perform this song better than how he did it. But it can be worth listening for a while.
