Send My Love signifies a perkier, up tone track, gardening to a wider range of music enthusiast. We would call it as a ‘Happy pop song’, where one starts to clap in tune with the music.
The track begins with deep guitar riffs and percussive beats, slowly leading into the introductory vocals. The story unfolds in the song through “You told me you were ready. For the big one, for the big jump. I’d be your last love everlasting you and me “Adele shares, about her communication from previous relationships. Stating what her ex’s had committed for. In verses, “ I’m giving you up. I’ve forgiven it all. You set me free-ee” Primarily trying to convey her forgiveness to her past lover. As she tries to continue and move on
The chorus follows a very reggae/house feel to it, the claps sandwiched in between, assures the lightness of the melody.
On 22 May 2016, a music video was released to accompany the single. The video debuted at the 2016 Billboard Music Awards. Where Adele can be seen singing in a long floral gown, with plain back backdrop. A striking part of the video is, at particular times shots have been taken which overlap and produce a very unique representational impact on the video. The video has been received positively by critics for its simplicity and direction. Also for the songs, reinvention and multiple sources of inspiration.
